One good thing, every day.

Grati asks one small question each morning:

What sound did you like today?

Answer with one photo and one line. It stays on your phone, and the good days add up.

Grati's Home screen: today's question, a captured moment with its photo and note, and a four-day streak
Memory Lane in Grati: a calendar where each day you captured shows its photo

Three steps, one minute a day

A question, a photo, a line. That is the whole ritual.

01
Grati's Home screen asking today's question, with a captured moment beneath it

Answer the question

Every morning there is a new one, in the mood you chose. Don't like it? Ask for another. Then one photo, one line, done.

02
Memory Lane in Grati: two months of day tiles, the captured days showing their photos

Watch the days add up

Memory Lane is a calendar of the days you noticed something good, each one a photo tile. Missed a day? Tap it and fill it in.

03
A single moment in Grati: the photograph, the date, the line written that day, and edit, share and delete actions

Keep it, or share it

Every moment opens on its own dark page with the photograph leading. Edit it, share it as a card, or leave it to resurface a month from now.

Beyond the question

Built for a habit, not an audience

A question that fits your mood

Six moods, Calm to Rage bait, each with twenty-plus questions. Retire any you never want to see again, or ask for another on the day.

Reminders that ask, not nag

The notification is the day's question itself, at the time you picked. Your phone schedules it for itself; nothing comes from a server.

Locked, if you want it

Face ID or your fingerprint over the whole app. Your phone does the checking; Grati never sees a face or a print.

Your archive, your file

Export everything as a ZIP: photos, a manifest, and a readable Markdown. Import it on a new phone. That is the backup, and you hold it.

Today's question, on the home screen

A small widget with the day's question and your streak, so the ritual starts before the app even opens.

A card worth sending

Any moment becomes a share card: the photograph, your line, and a few hand-drawn marks in the margins. Ink on warm white, whatever the app is set to.

Example entries

What a month reads like

A journal for one reader. This is the shape it takes.

Day 3Calm
What sound did you like today?
Rain on the skylight at six. Went back to sleep.
Day 9Warm
Who kept a promise today?
Dad called at seven, like he said he would.
Day 14Bold
What rule did you break for a good reason?
Left work at four. The light was too good to waste.
Day 21Warm
What kindness did a stranger show you?
Someone held the lift with their foot and did not sigh.
Day 27Calm
What tasted better than usual?
Bread from the place on the corner, still warm.
Day 30Warm
Who do you miss, and what do you miss about them?
Gran. The way she said my whole name when she was pleased.
A year in

The streak only measures you against you.

A streak in Grati is a count of days you kept something, nothing more. Miss one and the day strip shows the gap rather than a lecture. Tap the empty day, fill it in later, and it counts.

Memory Lane runs back as far as you have been noticing, and a moment from a month or a year ago surfaces on Home when the date comes round again.

“The archive is the reward. The streak just gets you there.”

FAQ

Yes. Every feature, on both platforms, with no card, no tiers and no ads. There is a voluntary coffee link at the bottom of this page if you want to support the work.

No. There is no sign-up and no sign-in. Open the app, say your name, pick a reminder time, and you are journaling.

Nowhere. They are stored in the app's own space on your phone, in a local database. Grati has no server to send them to, and no analytics watching what you write.

Whatever you have not exported goes with it. Export a ZIP from the Me tab whenever you like, keep it somewhere safe, and import it on a new phone. Importing the same archive twice is harmless: moments already there are skipped.

The reminder is the day's question itself, delivered as a local notification at the time you chose. Nothing is sent from anywhere; your phone schedules it for itself, and it never fires until you have said yes.

Pick a mood: Mixed, Calm, Warm, Playful, Bold, Reflective or Rage bait. Retire any question you never want to see again, and ask for a different one on any day.

Grati is built for iPhone and Android with the same journal on both. The badges at the top of this page show what is live right now.

As private as your phone. Turn on the app lock and Grati asks for Face ID or your fingerprint each time it opens. Your phone does the checking; Grati never sees or stores a face or a print.

Notice something good today. Keep it.

Grati is free. Coffee keeps it that way.

No ads, no tiers, no account — just one developer. If Grati has given you a better morning, a coffee keeps the questions coming.
