Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Grati — the mobile app for iPhone and Android, and this website (together, the “Service”). By installing or using the Service you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Grati is a personal gratitude journal. It asks you a question each day and keeps the note and photo you answer with, on your device. It is provided free of charge.

• Grati is a journal, not a medical, psychological or therapeutic service, and nothing in it is advice. If you are struggling, please reach out to someone qualified to help.
• There is no account. The Service does not require, and cannot accept, a sign-up.
• Reminders, streaks, the widget and the resurfacing of past moments are best-effort conveniences that depend on your phone’s settings and may not always fire.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service, or the minimum age required in your country to use an app of this kind without parental consent.

Everything you write and every photo you add is yours. Because Grati never receives it, we claim no licence to it and take no responsibility for it. You are responsible for the content you create and for anything you choose to share out of the App, including having the right to share any photograph of another person.

Your journal exists only on the device it was written on, until you export it. The ZIP export is the backup, and keeping it safe is your responsibility. We are not liable for moments lost through a lost, broken, reset or replaced phone, an uninstall, or an export that was never made.

• Don’t use the Service for anything unlawful.
• Don’t resell, rebrand or misrepresent the Service as your own.
• Don’t interfere with, damage or attempt to compromise this website or the app stores that distribute the App.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We may add, change or remove features, and may stop distributing or updating the App. If we do, the copy on your phone keeps working and your data stays where it is, but there may be no further updates.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Grati and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the Service is to stop using it and uninstall the App.

The App is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Their terms apply to your download as well. Where Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement conflicts with these terms, the stricter of the two applies to your use of the iOS App.

You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the App. We may withdraw access to the Service from anyone who violates these terms.

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
