Overview

Grati is a gratitude journal for iPhone and Android (the “App”). This policy explains what the App stores, where it stores it, and what leaves your phone. The short version: there is no account, no server and no analytics in the App. Everything you write and every photo you add stays on your device. We never see it, so we cannot sell it, share it or lose it.

What the App stores, and where

Grati keeps the following in the App’s own private storage on your phone — a local database and a folder of photos that no other app can read:

  • Your profile. The name you typed during onboarding and, if you added one, a profile picture.
  • Your moments. Each note, the day it belongs to, and a copy of the photo you attached. Photos are copied into the App’s storage so they survive if the original is removed from your library.
  • Your settings. Reminder time and on/off, appearance, whether the app lock is on, your prompt mood, and any questions you have retired from the rotation.

None of this is uploaded, synced or backed up by us. Whether it is included in your phone’s own device backup (iCloud or Google) is governed by your phone’s settings and the platform’s privacy policy, not by Grati.

What the App does not collect

  • No account, email address, phone number or password — there is nothing to sign up for.
  • No analytics, crash reporting, advertising or tracking SDKs.
  • No location, contacts, calendar or health data.
  • No copy of your journal anywhere but your phone. We have no way to read it.

Permissions, and what each one is for

Before any system permission dialog appears, Grati explains in its own words what it is asking for and why. You can decline, and the App keeps working without that feature.

  • Camera. Used only when you choose to take a photo for a moment. Only the picture you take is kept.
  • Photo library. Grati uses the system photo picker, which hands over only the one picture you select. It does not read your library.
  • Notifications. The daily reminder is a local notification carrying that day’s question, scheduled by your phone for your phone. No push service is involved and nothing is sent from a server.
  • Face ID / Touch ID / fingerprint. If you turn on the app lock, Grati asks your phone to verify you. The check is performed by the operating system; Grati only learns whether it passed. It never sees or stores a face or a fingerprint.
  • Microphone (Android). Android lists this permission because the camera component Grati uses is capable of recording video. Grati only takes photographs and never records audio.

The home-screen widget

The widget shows today’s question and your streak. It reads them from storage shared between the App and the widget on the same device. Nothing about the widget leaves your phone.

Sharing and export

Two features move data out of the App, and both happen only when you ask:

  • Share a moment. Grati renders the moment as a picture and hands it to your phone’s share sheet. Where it goes from there is up to you, and is governed by the app you send it to.
  • Export and import. Export writes a ZIP file containing your moments and photos; you choose where to save or send it. Import reads such a file back. The ZIP is yours — we never receive a copy.

Deleting your data

Because there is no account and no server, there is nothing to request from us. You can:

  • Delete a single moment from its own page. Its photo is removed with it.
  • Erase every moment from the Me tab. Your name and settings stay so you can keep using the App.
  • Uninstall the App, which removes the database, the photos and the settings from your phone.

Deletion is immediate and permanent — there is no copy anywhere else to restore from, other than any ZIP you exported yourself. Keep or delete those as you see fit.

This website

The website at grati.oddah.com sets no cookies of its own. It may use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic; if it does, the data is anonymous and used only to see which pages are read. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) for security and reliability.

Children

Grati is not directed at children under 13, and because the App collects nothing, it holds no data from anyone of any age.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of the App starts doing something this page does not describe, we will update this page and the date above, and say so plainly in the App’s About sheet.
